It’s that time of year again, where, if you work for a medium-to-large employer, you’ve got some decisions to make because it’s open enrollment time. Of course, depending on your situation, you may have been working remotely for a while, but, even so, you will likely have the opportunity to review your benefits package and make changes. And you’ll want to make the right moves, because your choices can have a big financial impact on your life. So, take a close look at these key areas of your benefits program:

Lance Corporal Jody Long spent four years in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Coronado, California, and Camp Pendleton, California. What began at first as a desire to serve his country and see the world quickly became an integral part of who he is. During his time in the service from 1994-1998, Long was a part of the Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, a dedicated security and anti-terrorism unit of the USMC. This unit provides security teams to guard high-value naval installations, most notably those containing nuclear vessels and weapons. He also served two years as a (8152) Marine Designated Marksman on a Close Quarter Battle Team before he was transferred to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, also known as The Professionals, where he spent 2 years as a (0311) Marine Infantryman within a weapons company.

Mesquite Announces 300 New Jobs As Part Of FNA Group Expansion

The City of Mesquite announced the FNA Group is expanding to Mesquite with a new 400,000 square-foot manufacturing and distribution center located at 1371 S. Town East Boulevard. This new facility will provide an estimated 300 new jobs for Mesquite. Operations at the new Mesquite facility have begun with a focus on utilizing improved assembly line designs and cutting-edge robotic technology. The FNA Group, headquartered in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin is a leading manufacturer of gasoline and electric powered pressure washers, generators, pumps, high pressure hoses, accessories and the replacement parts.

A persistent Texas voter, twice thwarted when he tried registering to vote while renewing his driver’s license online, has for the second time convinced a federal judge that the state is violating federal law.

Realtor ® Survey Finds Annual Foreign Investment in U.S. Home Sales Declines 5%

Foreign buyers purchased $74 billion worth of U.S. existing homes from April 2019 through March 2020, a 5% decrease from the previous 12-month period and the second consecutive annual decline in foreign investment in U.S. residential real estate, according to a new survey from the National Association of Realtors . Foreign buyers purchased 154,000 properties, down 16% from the prior year.

Mesquite Residents Have Access To COVID-19 Recovery Caseworker

As a part of their ongoing Recovery Mesquite efforts, the City of Mesquite announced Mesquite residents have access to a Spanish bilingual caseworker to aid them in submitting applications through Catholic Charities Dallas (CCD) for COVID-19 economic assistance funds for rental or mortgage payments, utility bills and other related expenses. The caseworker is Jasmine Bueno and she is available at Sharing Life Community Outreach, 3544 E Emporium Circle, Mesquite, TX 75150, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residents can email her at jbueno@ccdallas.org to schedule an appointment or for questions on an application.
