Governor Greg Abbott announced a record $148 billion in total investment for Texas’ transportation infrastructure. This investment includes the unanimous adoption of the more than $104 billion 10-year transportation plan by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to improve safety, address congestion and connectivity, and preserve roadways for Texas drivers. It also includes over $43 billion for development and routine maintenance. This is a $5.6 billion increase in total investment from the previous year.

With the school year comfortably underway, the Forney Education Foundation has “started” school as well. Not that FEF took the summer off for vacation! Instead, we were busy helping the students in Forney ISD. The Foundation was involved in the Summer STEAM camps by providing lunch to camp instructors and student workers every Thursday during the timeline of the camps.

The Crandall ISD Board of Trustees has scheduled a School Funding Election for November 5, 2024. If approved, the election would provide additional funding for employee salaries, academic initiatives, and maintaining a safe environment on campuses.
